Our Mission

For 50 years, Theater Bus, Inc. has enriched the lives of older adults over 55 residing in the greater Madison area by providing life enhancing opportunities to socialize with others while participating in safe, escorted outings to theatrical, cultural and social events.

As a non-profit organization, we strive to make these events accessible to all, including those with financial challenges. The reduced isolation and increased well-being can have a tremendous, positive impact on the quality of life for area seniors.

Theater Bus has been a wonderful opportunity for me to volunteer after retiring from a high stress job. I really enjoy meeting the people who go on the trips. Helping Ruth in the office keeps my computer skills current. I have encouraged several friends and family members to join in on the fun of bus trips. They will be repeat travelers.

After going on Theater Bus trips for a couple of years we wanted to become more involved. The Theater Bus President recommended that we apply for the Board of Directors. We were welcomed by the Board and have been very satisfied with the contributions we’ve made. Both of us enjoy plays, musicals, boat trips and of course the good food. Pickup Locations

Theater Bus provides the following convenient pickup locations.

Please arrive 15 minutes prior to the scheduled pickup time.

Important Note

Before each trip, the pickup times and locations for each trip are posted on our phone message at (608) 257-0003. Messages are checked in the morning before prior to departure. If for some reason you are not able to attend at the last minute, please call to let us know. Thanks!

WeST

We have three pickup locations on the west side. On weekdays, we pick up at both the Covenant Presbyterian Church located at the corner of Mineral Point and Segoe Roads and at Oakwood Village University Woods, located at 6205 Mineral Point Road. On weekends, our buses pick up at the Theater Bus office located at 437 S. Yellowstone Dr. on the corner of Yellowstone and Enterprise Ln, and at Oakwood Village West. Note: The Oakwood Village University Woods pickup is at the Main Entrance to Oakwood Village. Turn into the Oakwood Village Entrance at Island Drive and Mineral Point Road. Then take an immediate left and follow the signs for the Main Entrance. Just before and after the first stop sign, you can park your car on the left or right side of the road in the “Visitor” spaces.

eAST

Our bus stops at Marshalls, 2117 Zeier Rd. Please park at the opposite end of the lot away from Marshalls’ entrance.
